Ge or dagger axe head in bronze. Made in China, 3rd phase, Zhou Dynasty.

Sir William Burrell, Purchase Book 1948(1) p.49: ‘A bronze dagger axe (Ko) with short curved and pointed blade, and another short projecting blade on the other side with a single slot, the ridged stem with two slots and a circular aperture above for tying on the haft. Attractive green patination with regular markings perhaps for inlay. Chou Dynasty. 6"’.
