Gu or wine vessel in bronze. Made in China, 1st phase, Shang or Zhou Dynasty.

Measurements:
h: 7 7/8 in; diam of mouth: 6 3/4 in; diam base: 4 7/8 in

Bluett & Sons, dealer; from whom purchased by Sir William Burrell, 23 October 1946, £80; by whom gifted to the Corporation of the City of Glasgow, 1946.
