Silk tapestry (kesi) with later brocade boarder. Central panel Southern Song dynasty, late 12th centuary, outer boarder Ming dynasty. Overall dimensions: 80.3 x 78 cm. Very probably sourced in Tibet. Bought by Bluetts around 1990. Sold to the Cleveland Museum of Art. Illustrated in When Silk was Gold: Central Asian and Chinese Textiles, Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, 1997, no. 22.
