Bulb bowl of stoneware. Made in China, Ming Dynasty, 16th century.

Measurements:
h: 3 3/4 in; mouth diam: 7 in; base: 4 1/4 in

Provenance:
Frank Partridge & Sons, dealer; from whom purchased by Sir William Burrell, 18 October 1945, 50; by whom gifted to the Corporation of the City of Glasgow, 1945.

Manuscript sources
Sir William Burrell, Purchase Book 1945, p.68: A cloisonne style flower pot (bulb bowl) with a rich aubergine ground decorated with three lotus sprays outlined in turquoise and cream glazes. The interior with a turquoise glaze. 7 3/4" diam. 16th century Ming.
