Lot 15 (illus.): ĎA large blue & white rouleau vase surmounted by a tall cylindrical neck with crested rim superbly painted with a scene in the Imperial pleasure grounds, the Emperor and lady musicians and attendants in a dragon barge are being towed by a bevy of ladies, an acrobat on a trapeze at the stern and coutiers on the banks, the shoulders with diaper and reserve panels of po ku emblems, the neck with a band of floral ornament, surmounted by figures of Tung-fang, So and Lui Hai on a ground of pan shan hai shui. Height 30 ins. Kanghsi. Wood stand. Illustrated at the Exhibition of Chinese Art, London 1935 cat no 1799. Illustrated in Late Ceramic Wares of China by Hobsoní.
